Irish Arts: The eighth annual Amergael Celebrate Irish Arts exhibit with the theme of “Shore to Shore,” focusing on Irish immigration and U.S. symbols related to immigration, opens at the Long Beach Island Branch of the Ocean County Library in Surf City for the month of March.

LBIF: Noyes Arts Garage artists will exhibit at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences in Loveladies from March 3 through April 3.

New Noyes: Join the Noyes Museum as it launches its new headquarters at Stockton University’s Kramer Hall in Hammonton on Tuesday, March 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Visit the galleries, meet the Noyes and Kramer Hall staff and enjoy light refreshments. “Raw 2017: Photography” is a juried exhibition of 19 talented tristate photographers.

Artist opportunity: Apply by April 7 to participate in the Paint Hammonton Plein Air event on May 6.

A panel discussion featuring Professor of Art Wendel White and Christina Jackson Ph.D. of Stockton University and photographer Glynnis Reed, discussing her exhibition “That Shadow My Likeness,” will be held on Sunday, March 26 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Noyes Garage in Atlantic City.

Art Chat: Artists meet the first and third Thursdays of each month at 10:15 a.m. at the Hunting Shanty of the Tuckerton Seaport in Tuckerton for encouragement, news and support. Bring old or new works for discussion and your coffee and treats. This is not a work session.

PSAA: Pine Shores Art Association will hold an exhibit of the works of the late Connie Purvis as a memorial during the month of March with a reception planned for Saturday, March 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. Purvis was a talented photographer and artist who gave much of her time and talent to advance PSAA as a local artists’ space.

A bus trip to the Frick Collection in New York City to see the exhibit “Turner’s Modern and Ancient Ports: Passages through Time” is planned for Wednesday, April 19. Call gallery for info.

PSAA offers workshops to all artists in collage, watercolor, gouache, tempera, oil and pastels at its Manahawkin gallery. Ongoing pastel workshops with Linda Coulter continue from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays in the gallery. The fee is $20 per session; bring your own materials.

Ongoing portrait sessions are open to all artists for a nominal model fee, Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m., and Monday, 7 to 9 p.m. On Thursday is life drawing (undraped model), from 7 to 9 p.m. On Tuesday, 4 to 6 p.m., is Artists Helping Artists; drop in with your supplies for some friendly assistance. Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. is “do your own thing”; artists meet and create their own work.

Mark Calendars: Students from Southern Regional, Pinelands Regional and Barnegat high schools as well as the Ocean County Vo-tech will be showcased in the 40th annual Ocean County Teen Arts Festival at the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts Gallery from March 8 through April 7. Admission to the gallery is free and it is open whenever the Ocean County College main campus in Toms River is in session.

In the Libraries: Tuckerton artist and world traveler Jill DeFelice exhibits her paintings at the Little Egg Harbor Branch of the Ocean County Library through February.

A group exhibit at the Stafford Branch for March and April includes artists Carol Neugebauer, Danny Ng, Chuck Sulkowski, Olga Choulindina, Mike Lipton and Casey Bell.  —P.J.
