Beach Haven Opens ‘Project Medicine Drop’ Box

Sep 28, 2016

The Beach Haven Police Department today announced it has joined the New Jersey Attorney General’s “Project Medicine Drop” initiative, and has installed a Project Medicine Drop box at police headquarters to help the public properly dispose of unused medications and prevent prescription drug abuse.

“Project Medicine Drop is a natural addition to our commitment to help improve the public safety and quality of life in Beach Haven. It will encourage our residents to be fully aware of the potential for abuse presented by otherwise beneficial medications,” Police Chief Kevin Kohler said.

The department’s Project Medicine Drop Box is located at its headquarters, 300 Engleside Ave. Residents and visitors may visit the police department at any time, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to dispose of their unused or excess medications. After business hours and on weekends and holidays, the Project Medicine Drop box can be accessed either by calling 609-492-0505 or by picking up the red phone outside the BHPD lobby and at the office’s dispatch desk.
