Bellarine Theatre Co. Hosting ‘Rocky Horror’ at LBI Foundation
It was so nice, they’re doing it twice.
Last year the Bellarine Theatre Co. introduced “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” to Southern Ocean County with a Halloween-season screening of the cult classic at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences. The showing, complete with a Bellarine cast shadowing the actors on the movie screen and the audience participation that made the film a phenomenon back in 1975, quickly sold out.
So this year Bellarine will host two screenings of “Rocky Horror” at the LBIF, located at 120 Long Beach Blvd. in the Loveladies section of Long Beach Township. The first is at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28; the second will be a classic “midnight showing” starting at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29. Folks are encouraged to come in costume, especially since a costume contest will be held at both performances. Attendees 21 years of age and older are welcome to bring liquid refreshments.
Tickets for each show are $20; that includes a $5 admission fee and a $15 prop bag. They may be purchased online at btco.booktix.com. or at the door. Remember, though, the movie is so popular that if you choose the latter option, you may be shut out, a classic case of all dressed up with nowhere to go.
Note that people purchasing their tickets online must – repeat, must – print out their tickets. BTC will not be able to scan tickets on phones. Attendees buying tickets at the door may use cash, checks or credit cards. Anyone interested in group sales may call 609-661-2083.
Doors will open 30 minutes before each performance. —R.M.
