Community Gathering at the Tuckerton Seaport Oct. 29
Saturday, Oct. 29, marks the four-year anniversary since Superstorm Sandy ravaged the Jersey coast. Despite the number of days since the life-changing storm, people are still rebuilding and recuperating.
The Tuckerton Seaport will host its fourth Community Gathering on that date from noon to 4 p.m., inviting all local families regardless of need to come together and enjoy a meal and give thanks. The day will also honor local first responders and volunteers. Rebuilding the community was a community effort, and this event celebrates the power of coming together. This year the event will be inside the Tucker’s Island Lighthouse and will include entertainment and family activities.
The annual Giving Tree will be set up for those who would like to take a tag and be a Secret Santa.
The Community Gathering is free to all and is sponsored by the Jetty Rock Foundation and co-sponsored by the Tuckerton Seaport, Jersey Family Fun, Real Mom Media, St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce and WJRZ. —P.J.
