Drug Suspect Arrested in Barnegat After Trying to Flee

A search warrant for a residence on Lexington Boulevard in Barnegat Township resulted in the arrest of two persons on drug charges. Lt. Jeff Ryan said that on Aug. 8, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit along with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Operations unit, Stafford Township Police Department and Ocean County Regional SWAT team executed a search warrant on the home. As a result, Alexander Robinson, 37, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute in a recreational zone, obstruction and resisting arrest. Ryan said that initially, Robinson fled on foot but was apprehended by Stafford Patrolman Chris Smith and his K-9 partner, “Ollie.”

Robinson was processed and transported to Ocean County Jail on $150,0000 bail. Tara Estrella, 33, was also charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute and possession of Suboxone. She was processed and released on her own recognizance. —E.E.
