Flood Insurance Community Outreach Event for LBI Residents May 6

Apr 19, 2017

Long Beach Island residents are invited to attend a community outreach session May 6 for assistance with flood insurance. The event, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Beach Haven Firehouse, is sponsored by Flood Risk Evaluator.

“Whether you are confused about coverage options or Federal Emergency Management Agency regulations/requirements, in just one free session, our professionals can offer you the guidance you need with on the spot mitigation reporting and flood insurance premium information,” a flyer for the program explains. Learn about “improvements that may reduce your flood insurance premium.”

From 11 to 11:30 a.m., representatives from Flood Risk Evaluator will discuss changes to the National Flood Insurance Program, and will review new laws and regulations that will potentially affect policies, as well as mitigation steps to help homeowners save money.

An elevation certificate review Q+A session will be held beginning at 11:30 a.m., after which attendees will have the opportunity to sit one-on-one with a certified floodplain manager to review current elevation certificate and flood insurance policy.

The session will then be opened up for questions.

If available, homeowners should bring their elevation certificate and current flood insurance policy. (Call 866-599-7065 for assistance in obtaining an elevation certificate.)

Reserve a spot at the session online at longbeachoutreach.eventbrite.com, or call 866-599-7065.

Email your elevation certificate and flood insurance declaration page to fastpass@yourfloodrisk.com to have your complimentary FRE Flood Risk Evaluation Report waiting for you at the event.
