Free Summer Concerts at the Dock in Barnegat

If you’re in the mood for catching a bay breeze and listening to a variety of popular music, the Barnegat Recreation Department has free concerts throughout the summer at 7 p.m. on Saturdays at the public dock. In case of rain, concerts are held at Russell Brackman Middle School.

Sounds of the Street opens the series on Saturday, June 24. The rest of the schedule: July 1, ReUnited; July 2, CJ Brody Band; July 8, the Desperadoes; July 15, Strictly 60s; July 22, the Coastliners; July 29, Cobra Brothers; Aug. 5, Sounds of the Street; Aug. 12, ReUnited; Aug. 19, Sure Cats; Aug. 26, The Kootz; and Sept. 2, 70s Rock Revival Band.

The recreation department is also featuring bands for Pirates Day, Sept. 16, at the concert stage on East Bay Avenue. Sure Cats goes on at 10 a.m., followed by the Desperados at noon and Strictly 60s at 2 p.m. The closing concert is traditionally at 7 p.m. at the dock, but no band is yet announced.

Ice cream, snacks and bottled water will be available for sale.
