High Point Volunteer Fire Co. Holds ‘Rocktoberfest’ Fundraiser Oct. 6
The High Point Volunteer Fire Co. in Harvey Cedars is taking its annual beef dinner to a new level with a “Rocktoberfest” on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 3 to 11 p.m. Besides the traditional plate with roast beef, mashed potatoes and green beans, the fire company will also be offering jagerschnitzel, sauerkraut, bockwurst and German potato salad.
There will also be a selection of German beers along with red and white wine and soft drinks.
Tickets are $15 per person ($20 for those who also want to purchase alcohol). Children pay $8.
The event will also feature entertainment by Dave Jones and Thirdwatch.
“For the people who want to come early and get their takeout orders, it will still be the same,” said Mayor Jonathan Oldham, a fire company member. “This year, we’re adding a party atmosphere with a greater selection of food and live music.”
He said the proceeds go to the company’s general expenses.
“We always have to look at updating our equipment, and we have various maintenance costs throughout the year,” he said.
