Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, internationally famous as a birding and nature destination, is offering free nature walks throughout the summer at the Holgate Wilderness Area, located at the south end of Long Beach Island. Walks are themed and run Thursdays through Sundays, from now until September 2nd.

Shorebird Tour

Saturdays 10-11 a.m. through Sept. 2

Can you tell the herring gull from the laughing gull? Do you confuse the piping plover for the sanderling? Join us for a one-hour, ½-mile walk that will help you identify many of the common migratory shorebirds. Learn how the refuge protects endangered species and what you can do to help. Binoculars and pamphlets are provided.

All ages welcome.
