Learn About Terrapins at Stafford Library on May 23

May 17, 2017

Ben Wurst, habitat program manager at Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey, will talk about diamondback terrapin turtles and their survival in the saltmarshes on Tuesday, May 23, at 2 p.m. at the Stafford branch of the Ocean County Library. Wurst will discuss the life history of terrapins and provide background on a terrapin stewardship project, a Conserve Wildlife venture in partnership with the Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Reserve.

“I believe that with increased awareness, education and conservation initiatives we can help reduce the chances that the population becomes endangered in New Jersey,” said Wurst, who is also involved in the New Jersey Osprey Project.

To register for the program, call the branch at 609-597-3381. —E.E.
