Little Egg Committeeman Charges Report Documents Leaked Ahead of Meeting
Little Egg Harbor Committeeman John Kehm suggested at last Thursday’s meeting that someone had leaked in advance documents including the contents of special conflicts attorney Salvatore Parillo’s report to an online political news website publisher.
However, as of Tuesday, Sept. 13, Parillo’s report was not published on the online Ocean County Politics at politicsoc.com, edited and published by Gavin Rozzi. Rozzi was in the audience, taping the Sept. 8 meeting. The entire meeting can be viewed on his website.
Kehm polled township committee members to ask if they had leaked the documents, and they said they had not. But Kehm was sure someone had done so, despite the fact that both Loesch’s and Buzby’s attorney had repeatedly complained that they did not have the report. Parillo gave the report only to members of the committee.
Kehm then suggested Deputy Mayor David Schlick sent information to Rozzi because Kehm had read an email in which Schlick said he had more documents to send to Rozzi.
Rozzi’s website does have some redacted police reports on investigations into other township matters.
Police Chief Richard Buzby spoke during the public portion of the meeting, saying Kehm was suggesting he was a liar. “I’ve been accused of leaking documents so I would ask Gavin, ‘Have we ever met? Have we ever communicated?’”
“No communication, not at all,” said Rozzi.
“I am not a liar, but I’ve been accused of leaking documents,” said an irate Buzby.
When Township Attorney Jean Cipriani attempted to interrupt, Buzby stood and shouted, “You have wrecked my family vacation, you have ruined my family’s life. Don’t tell me to shut up. I have asked repeatedly for an investigation from your colleague and gotten nothing. This is the kind of garbage I get from the township that I have worked for 40 years.”
Rozzi said he never has nor would he ever give up his sources for his website. —P.J.
