Surveillance conducted by members of the Long Beach Township Police Department Detective Bureau, the Stafford Township Drug Enforcement Unit and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Operations Group Southern Enforcement Unit led to a drug-related arrest earlier this month. The various departments conducted surveillance in the area of 9 West 18th St. in the North Beach Haven section of the township on Oct. 6 in response to multiple complaints of illicit controlled dangerous substance distribution occurring in and around that residence.

“As a result of that surveillance, investigating detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop on a blue Dodge Dakota, operated by Robert Eletto, in the parking lot of the Walmart on Route 72 in Stafford Township,” the LBTPD explained.  “During the stop, Mr. Eletto advised detectives that he was in possession of a quantity of marijuana at his residence at 9 West 18th St.

“Consensual searches were conducted on both Mr. Eletto’s vehicle and residence. The search of his residence resulted in the seizure of quantities of marijuana, cocaine and U.S. currency.”

Eletto was subsequently arrested and transported to the Long Beach Township Police Department for processing, and was charged with possession of CDS (cocaine), possession of marijuana in excess of 50 grams, and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. He was released pending a future court date. —J.K.-H.
