Politics of Lying

Sep 21, 2016

To the Editor:

Do politicians make decisions that go against their morals and lie for personal gain because they believe that it is for the greater good and that the ends justify the means?

Over the last 25 years or so we have been taught that nothing is more important than self and personal gain – forget about everyone else. Lying for the greater good is a way to satisfy one’s personal ambition.

With the 2016 election heating up, it’s no wonder that misrepresentations, half-truths and flat-out lies about corruption are being bandied about through social media and websites with an attempt to change the political map of Southern Ocean County.
