Presentation Focuses on Hospice Volunteering
The Beach Haven Public Library hosts a program on hospice volunteering Tuesday, March 9, 1 p.m.
Anna Serbek, library technician, said representatives of Compassus will conduct a PowerPoint presentation. Compassus is a nationwide network of community-based post-acute care services primarily focused on hospice, palliative and home health care. The Nashville-based company operates more than 150 hospice, palliative and home health programs in 31 states across the U.S., including three in New Jersey.
“The focus of this program is to show how people can volunteer in hospice care,” said Serbek. “As a volunteer, you are enriching a person’s life. It could be anything from reading to them, helping with writing a letter or singing or playing a musical instrument.”
