Shelter Celebration

May 17, 2017

To the Editor:

It was a day to celebrate for shelter pets. Thanks to Angel and Jules for Others and Dr. Debbie Quintana, a successful fundraiser was held at the Captain’s Inn with a delicious buffet, music, a large array of wonderful raffle prizes and a good time. The funds raised at the event will help many dogs and cats. In addition, a truck load of pet food was gathered from the generous supporters in attendance.

The day, which was also “Clear the Shelters Day,” was topped off with an announcement that every dog in the shelter had been adopted. For the first time in memory, the shelter had no dogs and only one cat, which has since been adopted.

This was surely a day to celebrate. But the shelter is now full again and soon there will be lots of nice pets ready for adoption. Plan to visit the shelter in a week or two and add some love to your family and something to celebrate.
