So Much Baggage

Aug 31, 2016

To the Editor:

I am not sure how a major party could choose someone like Hillary Clinton other than they owed her for supporting Barack Obama. I don’t recall anyone with so much baggage running for the highest position in our country and with so little that is positive to offer the country other than it’s time to elect a woman regardless of her qualifications.

I was a Democrat for 72 years, but the Democratic Party is no longer the same party it was at one time. Here are some issues that could be used for the presidential debates:

Why does the Secret Service want to build a higher fence around the White House and Hillary has what appears to be a 10-foot wall around her house in New York, but they are against building a wall between the U.S. and Mexico to cut down on illegal immigration of potential drug dealers, criminals and terrorists?

President Obama and Hillary Clinton appear to be against good people owning certain types of guns to protect themselves while they have armed Secret Service agents protecting them.

Both President Obama and Hillary support a group called Black Lives Matter. Some of these people hold demonstrations and sometimes riot and loot businesses when a police officer shoots an African American who appears to be committing a crime, but the same group doesn’t seem to do anything when African Americans kill each other in our cities.

Hillary Clinton apparently jeopardized the laws on security by installing a personal web server in her home rather than use the State Department’s secured web server. After Bill Clinton met with the head of the Justice Department on an airport runway all of the charges against Hillary were dropped. Is the FBI and the Justice Department’s leadership corrupt?

If Hillary Clinton gets elected as the next president, and Bill Clinton is again in the White House, would you allow your child to be a White House intern with what Bill Clinton did in the Oval Office when he was president, and he originally lied about that as well.

With approximately 80 percent of U.S. citizens thinking the country is going in the wrong direction, will Hillary be another four or eight years of the same?

We are almost $20 trillion in debt and growing, do we want more of the same?

Has Hillary created any jobs?

Since Hillary and Obama are liberals, what will happen to the Supreme Court?

Why do we have career politicians and no term limits? Are our politicians making decisions to protect their benefits. Why do they have different benefit plans than we do and we pay for theirs?

Yes, Donald Trump is not a politician, but is that bad? If he thinks as a businessman, yes, he needs advisers to assist him. If we agree that the country is going in the wrong direction, do we want more of the same?

I am confused.
