Southern Ocean Chamber Hosts First-Ever Membership Meeting in Vacant Commercial Space
A new concept debuted when the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce held a membership meeting in available commercial space.
The March 8 showcase, sited at One Great Bay Blvd. in Tuckerton, was the first in a series of five that will showcase business community options in Southern Ocean County.
“Growing business and expanding opportunities is the basis of Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce’s partnership with the Ocean County Board of Realtors,” said chamber CEO Lori Pepenella. “The two professional organizations collaborated on their first successful POP Up chamber membership meeting.”
The vacant commercial spaces to be spotlighted will be available for either lease or sale, and holding chamber meetings there will encourage businesspeople to explore options. One Great Bay Blvd. has recently been refurbished.
Forty attendees included borough council members from Tuckerton and Beach Haven. The meeting featured keynote speaker Michael Redpath of Redpath Associates, and over an hour of networking. Refreshments were served.
The next POP Up membership meeting will be held on May 10 to recap Small Business Week. The location of the 3:30 p.m. meeting will be announced through the website of the Ocean County Board of Realtors at oceancountyrealtors.org, or the site of the Southern Ocean Chamber at visitLBIregion.com. Those interested may also call the chamber office at 609-494-7211.
The events double as a fundraiser for the Maximillian Foundation and Hope Sheds Light through a suggested donation of $10. —M.S.
