Sweet Service
To the Editor:
After spending another two weeks on beautiful LBI, on Saturday, Aug. 3 we made our usual visit to a local candy shop for our supply of memories of homemade fudge and salt water taffy.
When we went into the store it was crowded with people with the same idea. The clerk was an elderly woman who appeared overwhelmed but handled each customer as though no one else mattered. She spent her time and patience without any stress. I was amazed because she handled everyone as easily and fast as any younger person could possibly do.
She took time to smile, talk and wish everyone a safe trip home.
Three cheers for senior citizens who work and keep young.
