The Beach House Restaurant Reopens; Fresh Produce Clothing Store Coming to Sink ’R Swim
The Beach House Restaurant in Beach Haven Terrace is opening for its 16th season on Friday, April 26. Owners Terry and Debbie McGlynn along with sons Corey and Connor have been busy over the winter, repairing the restaurant after the devastation from Sandy.
“We have rebuilt and replaced just about everything, from refrigeration units to tables and chairs,” they told The SandPaper for the business column. “The dining room has been redone but still maintains its comfortable relaxed charm.”
The website’s welcome starts with a description of the restaurant that wraps up its appeal:
“The beach house – a place to enjoy fresh seafood, pastas and more. A place to bring a bottle of wine and catch up with friends. A place for a romantic dinner for two or a night out for a family of six. A place where you feel instantly at ease in flip flops or heels. A place that feels like coming home.”
This year, “coming home” will be even more of a celebration for the restaurant owners and guests as the summer of 2013 starts afresh.
We have been overwhelmed at the kindness and support given to us over the past few months from so many different people. Our employees helped us clean up, town officials answered our many phone calls and questions, fellow business owners passed on information, strangers offered kind words, and our families and friends were always there to lend a hand,” wrote the McGlynns.“We are proud to be a part of the LBI community and are looking forward to a great 2013 season.”
The Beach House is open weekends starting April 26 and then daily starting mid-June. The restaurant is BYOB and is located at 131st Street and the Boulevard in Beach Haven Terrace. Reservations are accepted at 609-492-1997.

Fresh Produce Selects Sink ’R Swim
For Exclusive LBI Distribution
The Sink ’R Swim Shop in Haven Beach announces that Fresh Produce, the women’s apparel and accessories line, has selected the store to be its exclusive retailer on Long Beach Island.
“Plans call for a dedicated Fresh Produce concept area to be constructed within the current Sink ’R Swim location at 1117 S. Long Beach Blvd.,” announced a press release. “Comprising about two-thirds of the store, it will feature a full assortment of the Fresh Produce collection from its signature casual styles and beachwear to dresses, skirts and cardigans perfect for evenings on the Island.
“The floor-to-ceiling remodeling project currently underway at the store will be completed in time for its Grand Reopening set for Memorial Day weekend.”
Sink ’R Swim Owner John Coyle and family have been operating retail shops here since 1958, and Coyle was one of the first business owners to have some of the shops in the complex back open and running after rehabilitating from the October storm. The grand reopening will showcase even more.
“As we looked at alternatives in the aftermath of hurricane Sandy, we considered rebuilding our company store, or finding the right partnership with an established retailer on the Island,” said Mary Ellen Vernon, founder of Fresh Produce. “After we met John the choice was clear. He shared our values and vision for the brand and his commitment to us within his store was very strong. At the end of the day, delivering the Fresh Produce brand experience with its hallmarks of selection and customer service are our top priorities. We have no doubt John and his retail team will make us very proud.”
The Fresh Produce brand is sold in more than 400 independent retail locations and in 26 company-owned boutiques across the United States, as well as online at freshproduceclothes.com.
