Valentine’s Day Coming Early to Little Egg Harbor American Legion
Looking for something to do on Valentine’s Day?
It falls on a Tuesday this year, not the most romantic or active of evenings, coming as it does in the middle of the work week, before even Hump Wednesday. Ugh!
But the American Legion Mystic Island Auxiliary Unit 493, located at 420 Radio Rd. in Little Egg Harbor Township, has you covered.
It is hosting a Valentine dinner and comedy show night the previous Saturday, Feb. 11. Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m.; heaping helpings of jokes will be dished out from 8 to 10.
Dinner will be a three-course affair – salad and garlic bread, chicken parmesan and dessert.
Like a three-course dinner, the comedy will come in three servings. Jackie Byrne will act as the host. Chip Ambrogio will be the featured comic. Jimmy Graham will be the headliner.
Byrne has appeared at the Laugh It Up Comedy Club and The Punchline in Philadelphia. Expect Ambrogio’s humor to have some bite – he is a contributing writer for NYC’s Friars Club roasts. Graham’s credits include The Laugh Factory, Catch a Rising Star and clubs and casinos all around New York City, Vegas and Chicago.
Tickets for the dinner are $10 and for the show are $20. But if you want to buy your sweetie a diamond come the big day, you can save money and get the combo ticket for $25. OK, a small diamond … Folks are welcome to visit the bar – usually reserved for members – between the chicken and the “rubber chickens.”
