‘Animal Tracks,’ ‘Owl Prowl’ at Cloverdale Park

Feb 04, 2019

Children will get a wildlife education with its “Animal Tracks” program on Sunday, Feb.10, at 11 a.m. to noon at Cloverdale Farm County Park in Barnegat Township. Youngsters will participate in a guided walk with park naturalists to look for the tracks of various animal species at the park.

If you’re interested in birds, Cloverdale sponsors a free Owl Prowl on Friday, Feb. 15, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Adults will go on a guided walk through the forest looking for these nocturnal birds of prey. Participants should wear sneakers or boots, dress for the weather and be prepared to walk a mile and a half at a moderate pace. If it is overcast or there are high winds, the event will be canceled.

The park is located at 34 Cloverdale Rd., just west of the Garden State Parkway interchange on West Bay Avenue. It is 90 acres of cranberry bogs and wooded uplands and is open from sunup to sundown for passive recreation; there is no admission fee.

To register, or for a complete list of events, call the park office at 609-607-1861. E.E.
