The Ocean County Chapter, Number 898, of the Experimental Aircraft Association will be holding a Young Eagle Flight Rally at the Ocean County Airport, on 101 Airport Rd. in Berkeley Township, on Saturday, June 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The rain date is Saturday, June 23.

The day was developed to welcome young people into the world of aviation. The chapter will give kids between the ages of 8 and 17 a free airplane ride. A parent must be present to sign a required permission slip.

“Free airplane rides are just part of the Flight Rally,” said Gene Bunt, spokesman for the local event.  “We hope to build one-to-one relationships between pilots and young people, giving a new generation a chance to learn more about the possibilities that exist in the world of aviation.”

He said pilots at the event will also explain more about their airplanes, allowing the young flyers to discover how airplanes work and how pilots ensure safety is the prime concern before and during every flight.

For more information, call Bunt at 732-600-6506 or email E.E.
