Area Libraries Host Stages Festival Performances in March

The New Jersey Theatre Alliance presents numerous productions across area branches of the Ocean County Library during March. These events are part of the Stages Festival, the state’s largest annual theater festival that provides free or discounted theater events for all ages.

The following productions are available to the public free of charge, but registration is required:

“A Cinderella Tale…Happily Ever After,” presented by Pushcart Players on Saturdays, March 3, 10:30 a.m. at the Little Egg Harbor branch, and March 10, 2 p.m. at the Lacey branch in Forked River.

“Miss Nelson Is Missing!” will be put on by Centenary Stage Company on Saturday, March 31, 2 p.m. at the Barnegat branch.

The Tuckerton branch hosts “At Ninety-Three,” presented by Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, Monday, March 19, 6 p.m.

“Sherlock Holmes Adventure of the Speckled Band - Radio-Style!” is presented by East Lynn Theater Company on Monday, March 26, 6 p.m. at the Waretown branch.

“Peter and the Wolf” will be staged by Pushcart Players on Thursday, March 22, 6 p.m. at the Stafford branch in Manahawkin.

“Tales from the Garden - A Celebration of History and Folklore of NJ” is presented by Growing Stage on Wednesday, March 28, 4 p.m. at the Long Beach Island branch in Surf City.

Founded in 1981, New Jersey Theatre Alliance is the first statewide organization for professional, not-for-profit theater companies and is a leader in developing model programs that foster collaboration, cooperation and audience development. The Alliance provides member theaters a wide range of supportive services and programs, and assists their growth and development to their full potential. For arts patrons, the Alliance provides accessibility services, discount ticketing through NJArtsTix, and various public programs, including the Stages Festival.
