In the Libraries: The Great John Mathis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is hosting an art show at the Island Branch of the Ocean County Library Feb. 1-28 to commemorate the 100 years since the end of World War I. “The Great Art War” will have a reception on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

PSAA artist Mary Walker-Baptiste exhibits 24 paintings in the Barnegat Branch of the Ocean County Library Jan. 31-Feb. 28.

The next Art Chat is held at the Tuckerton Branch of the Ocean County Library on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. Artists bring work to be critiqued or just to share. Free.

LBIF Artists Reception: Twenty artist-members of the Pine Shores Art Association display 71 paintings at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Art and Sciences in Loveladies through March 29. A reception for the artists is Saturday, Feb.17, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Register for a Canvas and Cocktails event on Friday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m. Instructor Abby Saiia leads you through a personalized painting. Fee of $30 includes all materials. Bring your own beverages and snacks.

The ceramics studio has reopened after renovations that included updated equipment and expanded classroom space. Weekly Saturday Drop-In Ceramics with Dallas Koenig continues.

High Bar Harbor artist Linda Ramsay welcomes artists to drop in and paint with her every other Tuesday ,10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for a  $25 fee. This month’s session is Feb. 27; register at the LBIF desk. Easels and glass palettes are provided.

Student Show: The Pine Shores Art Association’s annual Student Show is in the Manahawkin gallery and open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. Admission is free.

A new “Do Your Own Pastels” session is held Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. Amanda Sapp is the monitor. Ongoing portrait sessions are open to all artists for a nominal model fee on Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m., and Monday, 7 to 9 p.m. On Thursday is life drawing (undraped model) from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. is a “do your own thing” session; artists meet and create their own work. Afterward is “Artists Helping Artists” from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.; drop in with your supplies for some friendly assistance (no session on 2/17).

Tuckerton Seaport:The Seaport Stitchers offer a free Quilt Guild demonstration on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Hunting Shanty. Members will be working on projects and will answer any questions.

Be a part of Amergael’s Celebrate Irish Arts 2018 planned for Saturday, March 3, at Ocean Acres Community Center in Manahawkin. The theme is “The Irish Woman,” but any art image that fits an Irish theme is welcome: landscape, seascape, floral, etc.
