Art Notes Feb. 28

Feb 28, 2018
Artwork by: Victoria Ford Loose sketching or gesture sketches start the model sessions. This sketch by artist Victoria Ford shows grace and style with just a few well-placed lines.

New Nude: Join other local artists for life drawing sessions at the Old Baptist Church in Manahawkin on two Sundays, March 4 and March 11, from 10 a.m. to noon. Study the undraped figure in a historic setting, with plenty of natural light and a creative and experienced fine art model. No instruction is offered, it’s just a casual gathering for artists of all skill levels to explore new styles or sharpen their techniques. This event is “BYOAS”: Bring Your Own Art Supplies – portable easels, hard boards, sketchbooks, canvases and paints, you name it. (Also consider bringing a drop cloth to protect your own space.)

This gathering, a first of its kind at the location, is a trial to see if there is enough interest to continue. There will be a model fee collection.
