New Nude: Join other local artists for a life drawing session at the Old Baptist Church in Manahawkin on Sunday, March 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. Study the undraped figure in a historic setting, with plenty of natural light, and a creative and experienced fine art model. No instruction is offered, just a casual gathering for artists of all skill levels to explore new styles or sharpen their techniques. This event is “BYOAS”: Bring Your Own Art Supplies – portable easels, hard boards, sketchbooks, canvases and paints, you name it. (Also consider bringing a drop cloth to protect your own space.)

This gathering, a first of its kind in the location, is a trial to see if there is enough interest to continue. Model fee collection.

Irish Women: The theme for Amergael’s 'Celebrate Irish Arts 2018,' is 'The Irish Woman'  opening Saturday, March 3, at Ocean Acres Community Center in Manahawkin.

The exhibit then moves to the Long Beach Island branch of the Ocean County Library for the month of March.

Also In the Libraries: The next Art Chat is held at the Tuckerton branch of the Ocean County Library on Thursday, March 1 at 10 a.m. Artists bring work to be critiqued or just to share. Free.

Art history lecture at the Stafford branch on Monday, March 12 at 7 p.m. Professor Lisa Festa of Georgian Court University will focus on “The Art of Dutch Master: Rembrandt.” A reception for PSAA artists will be held at 6 to 7 p.m. before the lecture. Artists from Pine Shores Art Association Tom Troyano, Dorothy Siclare, Julianna Costa, Kathy Crocker and Nancy McCormick will exhibit in the Stafford branch through April.

LBIF: Twenty members of the Pine Shores Art Association display 71 paintings at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences in Loveladies through March 29.

The ceramics studio has reopened after renovations that included updated equipment and expanded classroom space. Weekly Saturday Drop-In Ceramics with Dallas Koenig continues, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come learn to make ceramics or practice your skill for a fee of $35, or paint fired bisque-ware for fee of $15 plus cost of piece.

High Bar Harbor artist Linda Ramsay welcomes artists to drop in and paint with alternate Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for a $25 fee. This month’s session on Feb. 27 is cancelled; the next session is March 13. Register at the LBIF desk. Easels and glass palettes are provided.

Student Show: The Pine Shores Art Association annual Student Show is in the Manahawkin gallery and open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Sundays 1 to 3 p.m. Admission is free.

A new “Do Your Own Pastels” session is held Tuesdays, 7 to 9 p.m. Amanda Sapp is the monitor. Ongoing portrait sessions are open to all artists for a nominal model fee on Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m., and Monday, 7 to 9 p.m. On Thursday is life drawing (undraped model) from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. is a “do your own thing” session; artists meet and create their own work. Afterward is “Artists Helping Artists” from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.; drop in with your supplies for some friendly assistance.

Artrageous: An interactive art and music show “Artrageous” comes to Ocean County College’s Grunin Center on  Saturday, March 24 at 8 p.m. A troupe of artists, musicians, singers and dancers present a visual and sensory journey with tributes to artists, pop icons and musical genres that results in a gallery of fabulous paintings. It’s a unique experience packed with inspiration, creativity and fun; including audience participation as part of the show. Artageous is sponsored by the Community Medical Center/ RWJ Barnabas Health.  Tickets range from $35 to $39 and a preshow dinner is an extra $25.
