An all-day workshop on shellfish restoration in Barnegat, Manahawkin and Little Egg Harbor bays will be held on Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Ocean Acres Community Center.

The Shellfish Forum is designed as a working session to share ideas and make contacts that will enable people to quickly identify, plan and implement shellfish-related projects. MATES (Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Sciences), Rutgers, ReClam the Bay and Save Barnegat Bay present the forum as a working session and the output will be a consensus of important issues requiring action in the near and longer term.

Marine scientists Doug Zemeckis and Michael Kennish from Rutgers University; Steve Evert from Stockton University; Rick Bushnell, president of ReClam the Bay; Britta Wenzel, executive director of Save Barnegat Bay; and others will present interactive talks. Participants will then split into groups to brainstorm on the future of bay waters.

Seating is limited and those who wish to attend must RSVP to rickb@reclamthebay.org.
