On Sunday, Jan. 20, the Bay Atlantic Symphony performs Mozart and Verdi in an instrumental concert at Stockton University with a special performance of “Piano Concerto No. 23” by pianist Juho Pohjhonen. Pohjhonen is Finland’s most outstanding pianist. According to a review in The Washington Post, “Pohjhonen has both impeccable technique and a clear-eyed approach to music.”

Music Director Jed Gaylin leads the symphony at 2 p.m. in the Campus Center Theater, 101 Vera King Farris Drive in Galloway. Since its founding as the Bridgeton Symphony in 1983, the orchestra has been recognized for its world-class performers, diverse programs and outstanding community services. Under Gaylin’s baton, the Bay Atlantic Orchestra is the only professional orchestra to serve the five southern-most counties of New Jersey.

Tickets for the Mozart and Verdi concert are $30 each and include a free “Pre-concert Conversation with the Maestro” at 1 p.m. in a classroom lecture hall. Call the Stockton box office at 609-652-9000 or order tickets online at bayatlanticsymphony.org. —P.J.
