Calling all aspiring biologists! Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey is holding its “Beach. Birds. Biology.” summer program for youngsters entering fourth through sixth grades in Barnegat Light this Wednesday, July 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

“Kids will experience a day-in-the-life of a wildlife biologist and be up close with endangered shorebirds such as piping plovers and American oystercatchers,” CWF explains. “Expert staff biologists will guide children in exciting adventures such as a beach scavenger hunt, wrack line investigating (and) nest searching and earn the status of junior biologist – badge included!”

The program will be held on the beach just in front of the lighthouse. Participants are asked to meet at the second pavilion from the parking lot in the morning.

The cost is $50 per child.
