Beach Haven Cap Plans Carols, Tree Lighting Dec. 8

Nov 14, 2018

On Saturday, Dec. 8, the Beach Haven Community Arts Program will hold a holiday program and tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. at the LBI Historical Association Museum in the borough. Rob Meyer, event coordinator, said the program includes a community sing-along featuring numerous popular carols, as well as a reading of the The Night Before Christmas.

“The song that the audience loves to do is the ‘12 Days of Christmas,’” he said.

Meyer said the tree, located by the gazebo in the nearby Veterans Memorial Park, will be lit at 7:30. After the lighting, the Beach Haven Volunteer Fire Co. will transport Santa Claus to the festivities, where he’ll stop by to give out candy canes and pose for pictures with children.

“Inside, hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be served,” he said. “It’s a fun night for families and the community. The museum fills up quickly, so if you want a good seat, it’s best you get there early.”
