Beach Haven CAP Rings in the Holidays Dec. 9

Nov 10, 2017

On Saturday, Dec. 9, the Beach Haven Community Arts Program will hold a holiday program and tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. Rob Meyer, event coordinator, said the festivities begin with holiday music performed by the Lighthouse Brass inside the LBI Historical Museum. The program includes a community sing-along featuring numerous popular carols. The Rev. Frank Crumbaugh, pastor of Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church, will read The Night Before Christmas.

“The song that the audience loves to do is the ‘Twelve Days of Christmas,’” said Meyer.

He said the tree, located by the gazebo in the nearby Veterans Memorial Park, will be lit at 7:30. After the lighting, the Beach Haven Volunteer Fire Co. will transport Santa Claus to the festivities, where he’ll stop by to give out candy canes and pose for pictures with children.

“Inside, hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be served,” said Meyer. “It’s a fun night for families and the community. The museum fills up quickly, so if you want a good seat, it’s best you get there early.”
