Music lovers can enjoy free concerts under the stars at Veterans Memorial Park, located on Beach Avenue between Engleside Avenue and Amber Street in Beach Haven, during the Concerts on the Green. The music at the gazebo, presented by the Beach Haven Community Arts Program, will be held on Wednesdays from late June through late August, from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Concert-goers may bring a chair or blanket. In case of rain, the concerts will be held across the street from the park at the Long Beach Island Historical Museum.

“People can sit back and listen or get up and dance,” said Rob Meyer, CAP event coordinator. “It’s a free night of fun for the whole family.”

The series will begin on June 27 with classic rock band Garage Kept, a popular attraction since they consist of local musicians. The Carnaby Street Band, which plays music of the British Invasion, will perform on July 11 (there is no July 4 concert due to the fireworks show).

The rest of the schedule is Jimmy and the Parrots (Jimmy Buffett tribute band), July 18;  McLean Avenue Band (Irish), July 25;  The Kootz (classic rock), Aug. 1; Diablo Sandwich Band (classic rock), Aug. 8; Tequila Rose Band (country), Aug. 15; and the Rave Ons (classic rock), Aug. 22.

Special kids’ concerts with Makin’ Music Rockin’ Rhythms will be held on Tuesdays, July 17 and Aug. 15, at 7 p.m.
