Beach Haven Firefighters Invite Community to Block Party

Sep 26, 2018

Chowderfest and Merchants Mart are not the only big events residents and visitors are looking forward to this weekend in Beach Haven. The Beach Haven Volunteer Fire Co., the oldest volunteer fire company in Ocean County, will hold its annual block party Saturday, Sept. 29 from noon to 8 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on Engleside Avenue.

Admission is free. Individuals of drinking age who would like to purchase beer may buy a beer mug and five beer tickets for $20. Each additional ticket is $5.

Beverages, as well as food cooked and served up by members of the fire company, will be available for purchase. The menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, pork roll cheeseburger, pretzels, soft drinks, bottled water and more. The event also features live entertainment.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the fire company to offset the cost of equipment and necessary supplies.

“We’re looking at purchasing a new fire truck,” said Mike Leonard, block party committee chairman. “We thank the community for its continued support.”
