Blood Drive at Stafford Library on Thursday

Mar 12, 2018

The Stafford branch of the Ocean County Library hosts a blood drive in partnership with the Jersey Coast American Red Cross chapter on Thursday, March 15, from 2 to 7 p.m., in the lower-level meeting room. According to the chapter, prospective blood donors must be in good health, be at least 17 years of age and weigh at least 110 pounds. Prior to the donation, they will be asked questions about their medical history, and also have temperature, pulse and blood pressure checked.

The actual donation takes between eight to 10 minutes. When approximately one pint has been collected, a staff person will place a bandage on the donor’s arm. Following the donation, free refreshments will be available.

The chapter serves a population of 1.2 million in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

To schedule an appointment, call the Red Cross at 800 RED-Cross or on line at redcrossblood.org; walk-ins are welcome. For more information, call the branch at 609-597-3381.  E.E.
