You can enjoy an afternoon of real rootsy music when the Pinelands Cultural and Historical Preservation Society presents a bluegrass festival on Sunday, Feb. 11, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Albert Music Hall, located at 131 Wells Mills Rd. (Route 532) in Waretown. Doors open at 11.

Admission is $10 for adults, and $1 for children younger than 12.

Elaine Everett, Albert Hall publicity director, said the program would feature Bad Dogz Bluegrass Band, Jersey Corn Pickers, Boulevard Express Bluegrass Band, Last Whippoorwill Bluegrass Band, Grassland Bluegrass Band and Dune Grass Bluegrass Band.

Light refreshments and gift items can be purchased. Proceeds benefit the Albert Hall Scholarship Fund.

“The music will be strictly bluegrass,” said Everett. “This is one of our two special Sunday music shows. The other one is on the Sunday after Labor Day.”

Albert Hall also has regular Saturday night concerts, beginning at 7:30.

“Those concerts offer a mix of country, bluegrass and Pinelands music,” said Everett. “But our special Sunday shows are completely devoted to bluegrass.”
