Brighton at Barnegat Celebrates Flag Day

Jun 09, 2017

A flag sale and a 2 p.m. ceremony to honor patriots is set for Flag Day, Wednesday, June 14, by the Manufactured Home Owners Association of Brighton at Barnegat. The community is located on Route 72 West in Barnegat Township.

The observance will also include a ceremony there, beginning at 2.p.m. and running for about 30 minutes, after which refreshments will be served in the clubhouse.

“MHOA decided to put this celebration together so that the general public could honor the flag along with honoring our patriots,” the association invites.

“The general public may also bring torn, tattered or old flags that must be retired to the event, and the American Legion will remove them for respectful disposal.”

American flag etiquette books will also be distributed to the first 100 guests, compliments of Congressman Tom MacArthur.

Flags purchased will be on display from Flag Day, June 14, through Independence Day, on July 4, at the entrance to the community.
