For the past 13 months, the Spoiled Rotten Kids Consignment shop has been on hiatus as it works on opening up a new location in Barnegat Township, at 455 North Main St. (Route 9). In the meantime, the business is expanding to Long Beach Island in the form of Spoiled Rotten Kids at 11006 Long Beach Blvd. in the Haven Beach section of Long Beach Township. The consignment name is left off for a reason.

“It’s only 700 square feet, so we don’t have space for consignment,” said owner Tracy Corcino. “It will be a boutique featuring children’s clothing, accessories and gifts.”

Corcino opened Spoiled Rotten Kids Consignment in 2010; it was formerly located at the Gunning River Mall in Barnegat. Unlike other consignment businesses, Corcino’s store catered strictly to young children, from newborn to preteens. Merchandise included clothing items, toys, stuffed animals, bassinets, cribs, strollers, high chairs and car seats, books, puzzles and games.

“In the beginning, all our merchandise was pre-owned,” she said. “But then we started getting new items, such as Melissa and Doug toys. The new items were very well received, so we’re confident we can succeed on the Island.”

Through April, Spoiled Rotten Kids will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.

“Beginning in May, we’ll be open seven days a week,” she said.

In addition, Spoiled Rotten also has costumed characters available for birthday parties and other special occasions.

“Last year over the holidays, we had Santa available for house calls, and we had well over 200 bookings,” she said.
