To the Editor:

My club members and I read the piece you published in your June 13 issue on page 30 regarding our annual Corvette show. While we were delighted with the excellent photo coverage, we feel we must point out some incorrect data or omissions in the copy.

To that end, you may find the following data useful.

The Beach Bums Corvette Club has been in operation for more than 15 years. This was the club’s 14th annual fundraiser in Beach Haven. The proceeds help support many local charities. Among them are the St. Francis Food Bank, Friends of Southern Ocean Animal Shelter, an annual scholarship at Barnegat High School, the Beach Haven police vest program, the LBI Museum as well as contributions to needy families in the community.

We hosted our 14th annual show on June 9 at the Taylor Avenue parking lot in Beach Haven. It drew 115 vehicles from as far as Allentown, Pa., Staten Island and Bridgewater, N.J. It has developed into a must-attend event for many area Corvette enthusiasts. As is usual, this year’s event was conducted smoothly with the able assistance of the Beach Haven police and borough clerk’s office.
