Customers, Food Banks Benefit from NJNG’s ‘You Save, We Donate’

Nov 21, 2018

New Jersey Natural Gas’ holiday social media sweepstakes – “You Save, We Donate” – gives customers of the utility the chance to win a portion of $500 in gift card prizes, while also learning how to conserve energy and money as the temperatures drop. In addition, two community food banks will benefit from the promotion.

Through Jan. 15, NJNG will post weekly energy-saving tips and trivia questions on its Facebook page. One person each week who correctly answers the trivia question will win a $50 gift card.

And for every answer submitted – whether correct or incorrect – the utility will donate $5 to Fulfill (formerly the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties) and Interfaith Food Pantry and Resource Center, in Morris County, up to a combined total donation of $10,000.

“As energy usage ramps up for the winter, NJNG is giving our customers a fun, easy way to get in the spirit of the season, win prizes and learn easy steps to conserve energy and lower their energy bills,” said Anne-Marie Peracchio, director of conservation and clean energy at NJNG. “At the same time, just by participating in our weekly energy-saving trivia challenge, customers can join us in giving back to our local food banks who are helping in the lives of those who need it most.”

Last year’s promotion raised more than $6,500 in donations.

Entrants must be residents of New Jersey, at least 18 years of age, and customers of NJNG. For the official rules, visit Facebook.com/NewJerseyNaturalGas. —J.K.-H.
