Different Plan Pursued

Oct 18, 2017

To the Editor:

The vote on the defeated LBI School District referendum was an overwhelming mandate. We need to present a different plan for our future.

The representatives of the three municipalities that defeated the referendum – three mayors, two  commissioners and 14 governing body members – have the same goal. That goal is to provide the best education facilities for our LBI students. This can be accomplished at a much lower cost by repairing and using the assets we already have.

At the invite from President James Donahower of the LBI school board, municipal governing body representatives met with him and their respective school board members. We have hopes that the LBI school board will be open to our suggestions and work toward a common goal.
