“Last year we had around 75 dogs, all shapes and sizes,” said Sally Volpe, event coordinator. “Everybody gets a kick out of seeing their dogs dressed up for the holidays. It’s a great day for family fun. There’s sure to be a lot of laughs.”

Dec. 8 is also "Spot a Holiday Character Day." Participants can go to Kapler’s Pharmacy anytime after 11 a.m. and pick a map and secret password . Follow the map to each location and find the character and receive Fantasy Island tickets, which can be redeemed there after 2 p.m.

In addition, Tucker’s Tavern offers a family happy hour with musician Chris Fritz from 4 to 7 p.m., featuring  cocoa and crafts for the children and water and bones for the dog parade participants.
