Eat Turkey, Raise Funds for Beach Haven Fire Co.

Feb 06, 2019

The Beach Haven Volunteer Fire Co., the oldest volunteer fire department in Ocean County, will host its 102nd annual Turkey Dinner fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 16, between noon and 8 p.m. Department members typically serve around 2,400 dinners during the popular event. Meals for both eat-in and takeout orders will include turkey and mashed potatoes, string beans, stuffing and cranberry sauce along with rolls and dessert.

The event is also BYOB for those who’d like to enjoy their home-cooked meal at the firehouse, located at the corner of Amber Street and South Bay Avenue. The company holds the dinner on Presidents Day weekend because if the weather is decent, it’s often when seasonal homeowners first come down to check out their residences since locking up in the fall.

Meal tickets cost $20 each and can be purchased at the door. Tickets bought online cost $21 (the extra $1 covers Paypal fees).

Funds will go toward equipment and operating expenses of the fire company, which serves the borough along with numerous sections of Long Beach Township.
