If you’re a basketball fan and want to help a great cause, visit the Pinelands Regional Junior High School gymnasium on Sunday, Dec. 10. In honor of Teddy Marousis, the high school’s Advanced Sports Marketing class is running an event, dubbed “Tip-Off for Teddy,” in support of the Challenger League basketball game.

Teddy, a 14-year-old Pinelands student and Challenger athlete, unexpectedly passed away on Oct. 31. But his positive spirit and enthusiasm live on among the Wildcats, and Sunday’s game will feature numerous giveaways and is guaranteed to be a fun time for all involved.

Admission to attend the game is free, but donations toward Teddy’s Scholarship Fund will be accepted at the door. The game begins at 10 a.m.

“We want people to see what Challenger is all about and why it meant so much to Teddy and his family,” said Challenger coach Scott Beaton on his Facebook page. —D.B.
