Nov 29, 2017

Reel in great deals for angler family and friends at the Barnegat High School Fishing Club’s ninth annual Fishing Flea Market on Saturday, Dec. 9. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Barnegat High School.

Admission is $4. Children 12 and younger enter free of charge.

“Last year we had close to 500 people attend,” said club adviser Brett Taylor, who pointed out that all proceeds benefit the club, comprised of students in grades nine through 12.

“The BHS Fishing Club gives out scholarships, donates to the annual toy drive and local food bank, and provides youth fishing opportunities for students of Barnegat High School,” he explained. “Students also have opportunities to fish from the surf and local headboats.

“It's a great club, and we have a great following in the school district, so come out and support.”

Door prizes will be awarded every half hour. Attendees must be present to win.

Vendor tables are still available, at $35 for an 8-foot table. For more information, contact Taylor at

The school is located at 180 Bengal Blvd. —J.K.-H.
