Four Seek Three Seats on Barnegat School Board

Aug 01, 2018

An incumbent, a former board member, a former candidate and a newcomer are all in the running for three three-year terms on the Barnegat Township Board of Education election on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The candidates are David Sherman, Lauren Sarno, Michael Hickey and Richard Quelch. Sherman was first elected to a two-year unexpired term in 2013, and then won a three-year term in 2015. Sarno, the wife of board president Scott Sarno, is a former board president who had previously served nine years.

Quelch ran unsuccessfully last year, and Hickey is making his first attempt at public office.

Incumbents Linda Kropf and Andrew Watts declined to seek re-election. Kropf is running for a township committee seat on the Republican ticket. E.E.
