Free Children’s Shows and More This Summer at the Grunin Center

A special selection of free children’s shows are among the offerings this summer at the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts on Ocean County College’s main campus in Toms River. Seating is limited, so RSVP early to guarantee a spot.

On July 18, take the family to see “Doktor Kaboom! Look Out! Science is Coming!,” a blend of theater and science that will invigorate young minds.

“Bubble Trouble: An Interactive Bubble Show” comes to OCC July 26. This mix of comedy, music and interactive bubble-magic will delight audiences of all ages.

And, on Aug. 4, see the Broadway-style family musical “Monster Intelligence: A Musical Journey for the Entire Family.”

The Grunin Center will also host, as part of MidWeek Jazz, the Jazz Lobsters Big Band on June 21, Swingadelic on July 25 and 15-year-old trumpet prodigy Geoff Gallante on Aug. 24. MidWeek Jazz tickets are $24 for adults, $20 for seniors and $12 for students.

On July 14, 15, 16, 20, 21 and 22, the OCC Repertory Theatre presents “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” a new musical based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $10 for students.
