Free Summer Concert at Bass River State Forest

Jul 26, 2017

Enjoy a free summer concert under the stars at the Lake Absegami breezeway in Bass River State Forest. Members of the Acoustic Musicians Guild will perform on Saturday, July 29, from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

The guild is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of acoustic music. Formed in 1996 and based in New Jersey, it creates opportunities for members to perform their music for the public in various venues: the Ocean County Library System, Ocean County Artists Guild, Albert Music Hall in Waretown and several coffeehouses in the region.

The guild is open to amateur and professional musicians. The AMG, as it is known, has been featured in various radio, cable TV, newspapers and magazines.

Bring a chair, insect repellent and a flashlight to light your way when leaving the pavilion. The venue is ADA accessible. Although the program is free and the entrance fee to the park is waived, donations to the band are welcome. The state forest entrance is located at 762 Stage Rd.  —P.J.
