Free Training for Bartenders on Sexual Assault Awareness

Jun 27, 2017

St. Francis Counseling Service is offering  free training for all bartenders, servers and employees of bars and restaurants in Ocean County called Ocean County: Stand Up. The training educates participants on sexual assault, drug-facilitated sexual assault, bystander interventions and ways to help prevent sexual assault in the county.

“This program is important because about 50 percent of all reported sexual assaults in Ocean County are drug or alcohol involved. The goal is to educate as many bars and restaurants in Ocean County that are willing to have their staff trained,” said Lori Dudek, St. Francis Parish and Community Center communications, special events and volunteer coordinator.

The next scheduled training is at Tuckers Tavern in Beach Haven on Friday, June 30 at 3 p.m.

For further information, Dudek can be reached at 609-494-8861, extension 118.  —M.S.
