Free Workshop on Sun Safety at Stockton Manahawkin

Jun 20, 2018

Sun goes with fun at the beach, but the sun is a formidable force, and what you don’t know can hurt you when it comes to safety while out in the elements.

A chance to learn is offered at a “Sun Safety” presentation at Stockton University at Manahawkin on Wednesday, June 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

There is no cost, and the talk is open to the public. However, seating is limited, so call to register, 609-626-3883.

Health science students through the Office of Service-Learning will speak on sun safety. Topics include ultraviolet protection, selecting the right sun screen, when to consult a dermatologist, identifying signs of skin cancer, and light exposure.

Nurse practitioner Laurie Rost, of Schweiger Dermatology Group, will also speak.

All ages are welcomed and light refreshments will be served.  —M.S.
