It seems everywhere you look these days, there’s Gaten Matarazzo.

The Little Egg Harbor teen is the star of the Netflix hit series “Stranger Things,” which started its second season late last month. Since then, he has appeared in countless magazines and television programs, a Katy Perry music video, was a presenter at the American Music Awards earlier this month and can even be found in the latest Verizon Fios commercials.

His band, Work In Progress, will perform at Tuckerton Beach Grille on Saturday, Dec. 2 without him. Due to a contractual agreement, Matarazzo will not be in attendance, but he will be back alongside sister Sabrina for the Winter Break Party at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park on Friday, Dec. 29.

In addition to all this, last week Matarazzo lent his talents to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office for the next two episodes of its video series “Right Turns.” Distracted driving and what to do when pulled over by police will be the focus of episodes six and seven.

The video series is produced with no cost to taxpayers and is funded by utilizing drug forfeiture funds collected as part of the proceeds of criminal narcotic activity. Matarazzo also volunteered his time free of charge.

“The videos will be ready sometime early in 2018,” said prosecutor’s office spokesman Al Della Fave.

Once finished, the newest episodes of “Right Turns” will be shown in high schools throughout the county and available online at

Who knows where Gaten Matarazzo will turn up next? In an upcoming “Game of Thrones” episode? In the Acme checkout line behind you? Stranger things have happened ...
